What Is My Brand

Several aspects make up one’s identity. Things like style and colors are tools that people utilize to represent that identity and personality. No person is the same. Everyone has their own hobbies, quirks, and interests. Different items, clothes, and colors can reflect that.

Research

The first step I took to discover my brand was to Google myself, only to find content solely on a Bachelorette star, Hannah Brown, and her past love interest, Tyler Cameron. I scrolled extensively and the Bachelorette media never seemed to end. There was not much past that. So, I switched platforms. I clicked on my Pinterest app, typed in my name, and waited for the results. Victorian-styled houses, girls with voluminous hair in dainty dresses, rustic interiors, flowers, and a shirtless picture of Matthew McConaughey appeared.

First, I would like to say, I am very flattered that heartthrob, Matthew McConaughey, appears when I type in my name. Overall, I loved everything that showed up on Pinterest. I love infrastructure with character, art and nature, and older fashion styles. Each one of those pictures fits me perfectly.

I grew up in a Puerto Rican and Polish Jew household so my love for diversity, individuality, and different cultures has always been a major part of who I am. I represent all those concepts through my clothes and my hobbies (singing, writing, photography, art, etc).

As far as the Google search goes, I do not feel the desire to change much about my publicity as I prefer to keep a lot of my life private. A major part of me hoped not to find much of anything about myself on Google. I mostly choose to live in the moment and will occasionally share special or fun moments with the world.

That being said, I suppose my brand will have a foundation based on individualism and independence. My independence is definitely part of my brand. I would love to represent that through darker earth tones/dark academia-type graphics and colors. I especially love greens. Also, I love expressing myself through my fashion and style by wearing a variety of patterns and fun colors. So I would love to add a pop of color amongst the various dark shades in my brand.

Overall, I am happy with my brand. It fits me perfectly in the sense that it might not be what everyone likes but it stands out in a way that strangely draws people to it. I have a loud personality but I also cherish introvertedness. I feel like the darker colors represent that side of me that people do not really ever see, while the one pop of color is that personality that everyone knows me for.

In the next 2 years, I would love to join the Peace Corps and do my civic duty in the world by helping those who are less fortunate, while also gaining experience in effectively communicating with people of various backgrounds. In the next 10 years, I hope to work for National Geographic as a photojournalist, so the earthy tones and nature-inspired graphics in my brand would represent that perfectly.
